California's 5th Senate District

California’s newly created 5th Senate District is anchored in San Joaquin County and also includes portions of Stanislaus and Sacramento counties. The district includes all or portions of the cities of Galt, Lodi, Stockton, Lathrop, Manteca, Escalon, Tracy, Ripon and Modesto. The district also takes in the communities of Thornton, Morada, Linden, Woodbridge, Farmington, French Camp, Mountain House and Empire.

Ornellas offers the 5th District a capable, independent candidate with deep roots in the county. He has a proven track record of balancing budgets without raising taxes and is determined to stop the "bull" in Sacramento. As a dairy farmer, businessman and San Joaquin County Supervisor, he will not leave a single constituent behind in the new district; while the two current State Assembly members who have announced must pack their bags and move into the district.

Leroy Ornellas is a perfect fit for the new 5th District. His family has owned and operated a dairy farm in the Tracy area since the 1930s. As County Supervisor, he has a solid record of creating jobs, promoting education, protecting tax dollars and farmers rights, and cutting government waste while protecting public safety.

Ornellas is currently campaigning aggressively, raising money and securing statewide and local endorsements.
